The verry interesting Indian company Zoho, prrovider of "office" software under the SaaaS model, and a competitor to Google Docs or Microsoft Live (yes, little names), just openedf Zoho Marketplace.
Zoho Marketplace seems created to copete directly with PazS platforms such as Salesforce's Force or Coghead. With a very similar idea, it offers developers the possibility to creating applications usinng Zoho's infrastructure (especially spreadsheets and databases) and then put them for sale in their Marketplace.
It could be said that it is currently not a competitor of Salesforce's AppExchange, and won't be probably for quite a long time. However, Zoho is a company that sinc e we knew abot it has been able to create a very interesting and complete suite of products at a very reasonable price, tht can work very well for many customers, here you have a prtty impressive example.
With Zoho Marketplace they do nothing but strengthen its presence in the market for SaaS, and from here we will continue to pay them the attention they deserver (we must confess we consider ourszelves almost Zoho fans...)
